The Recess are John & Rich - two Brighton based but cosmically placed DJs with a love of all kinds of music to make you dance and to help you pass out afterwards!
"One Hundred Below" is the name we gave our events and the radio show we do monthly on DeepFrequency.com
Out and about we play groove based dance music: Classic Disco, House, Nu Disco, Funk, Soul, Friendly Tech and Electro, Boogie, Balearic and Breaks...
On the radio we also play oddities, rarities, ambient, electronica, downtempo, leftfield and anything weird and wonderful...
On the blog we write about whatever makes us tick, sing, dance, cry, remember and forget...
We keep it eclectic; we don't care too much for beat mixing, beat matching, scratching or looking moody while tweaking the controls....
It's about the tunes and having a good time, not being technically excellent - there are no airs and graces and sometimes we accidentally play records at 45rpm instead of 33rpm and like it...
